Data protection is one of the key factors in corporate IT strategies, also in light of the growing phenomenon of ransomware attacks: avoiding or minimizing data loss (RPO) and guaranteeing recovery times (RTO) adequate for one's production needs requires precise analysis of data and company reality in order to identify an effective "disaster recovery" plan. My approach to data security involves first of all storage exclusively on RAID drives that guarantee a high level of reliability against failures, and daily backup plans at multiple levels (local and geographical) on corporate NAS and in the cloud. Furthermore, it is essential to protect the entire network with a "security device" equipped with advanced security services and all endpoints with effective antivirus and anti-malware software.
Users must not lack basic training for safe use of email and web browsing.

Server installation and configuration

I am a certified Microsoft systems engineer with many years of experience and I can install new servers, migrate existing servers, manage services such as Active Directory, DNS, Hyper-V, printing and file sharing, configure RAID units. If necessary, I am also able to intervene at the hardware level to replace any defective components.

My experience has taught me what are the most critical aspects of a server that need to be monitored to ensure continuity of service. Among these, RAID units are certainly those that deserve greater attention as they are in many cases composed of mechanical disks which can fail over time.

Network equipment configuration

By virtue of the Zyxel and Cisco certifications I install and configure network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls (security devices), controllers, access points, VPN gateways, NAS, UPS, IP cameras, NVRs, multicast streamers and industrial network devices. In some cases I have designed entire LAN networks both wired and WiFI "from scratch" in environments such as hotels and museums.

Today, networking technologies have made great strides, allowing the management of the entire infrastructure via cloud portals such as Zyxel's Nebula Control Center.
These technologies make maintenance, monitoring and resolution of any problems much easier and faster, significantly reducing the probability of downtime of the customer's network.

The enormous expansion of the main cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google offers the possibility of migrating part of the IT infrastructure to optimize costs and exploit the extreme flexibility and scalability of these platforms. However, analyzes and choices of this type are complex, delicate and require a lot of experience.

Web development and hosting management

I am a certified "full stack web developer" and I develop web applications on PHP / Laravel / Simfony technologies with MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server database support. I create corporate websites with WordPress and Elementor PRO with any customizations at the source code level. I manage web hosting (mainly on Aruba.it and Register.it) on behalf of clients, taking care of any configuration.

During my career I have developed many applications for production data collection ("C" language), industrial labeling (Visual Basic), barcode label printing (GW-Basic and Turbo Pascal), budget and turnover calculation (transact-SQL). , systems integration (PHP). Today I develop web applications in PHP using OOP programming with the support of Laravel or Symfony, for LAMP/XAMPP environments.

Prestashop Expert

In recent years I have acquired particular experience in the installation, configuration and management of both B2C and B2B Prestashop stores. I am able to create a shop from scratch or update / migrate an existing shop, carry out the mass upload of products in the catalog and synchronize the shop with the company management system (ERP/CRM), as well as with the main marketplaces such as Amazon and Ebay.

Using e-commerce applications such as Prestashop can be relatively simple for starting a small shop with a few products, but it becomes extremely complex when the shop must integrate and synchronize with company software, manage international sales with prices and rates Different VATs.
